Color Sanding after a re-paint.

Micromesh doesnt follow ANSI standards when rating abrasives which could be why you had trouble. Their 4000 grit is roughly comparable to standard (Mirka, Megs Unigrit, etc) 1500.

Great catch, and THANK YOU for pointing it out.:2thumbs:

I'm a newbie to MM paper, and could not figure out how 4000 grit would leave sanding trailers because I was making *very* light passes and checking often.

I haven't been thrilled with 3M paper, so I decided to take another route on this one. Micro-Mesh paper is VERY high quality and much easier (for me) to work with.

I think that I really wanted 8000 & 12000 grit MMR paper.

Lesson learned, and again -Thank You.

Here's the micro-mesh conversion chart (for those interested) taken from

the 'Scientific Instruments' web site.
