WaxAddict- I always get the black trim/etc. pretty nice before I apply the 845, so while it might impart a bit more sheen IME it's primarily protective.
Yeah, I'd wondered about "using petroleum distillate products on rubber and plastic" and I've been *sternly* warned (to put it politely
) about the inevitable damage that it'll (supposedly) cause, but after waxing my rubber and plastic trim for decades (almost 30 years of it on the Jag) I've *never* had any problems at all. None.
It works so well that I simply DO NOT use ERV dressings (which I now refer to as "trim slime"
) on such surfaces unless, hypothetically speaking, they're so utterly degraded that I think that's the only viable option (that'd be on somebody else's vehicle, doesn't apply to any of mine hence the hypothetical).
I've even used their 476S paste and FK1000P for this, but those aren't *NEARLY* as foolproof and while it worked fine for me (and for davidc) YMMV and honestly I still think "don't try this at home, kids" might apply.
