Collinite ?'s

Is Collinite OTC anywhere?

Sure. Try any Advance Auto Parts that has a Marine section. It's in a very indescrete bottle so you might miss it the first time like I did.

Have not tryed anything other than 915 from collinite and found it to provide more depth and shine than TOL pizzaz, p21s and all other waxes I have tried

Willing to try 476 and 845 etc before finalising which wax to go for

Great info! How does 845 work over RMG?

I had poor results, did not last over RMG. I may give 845 another shot someday, but I did not like it very much, car always looked dirty and lots of contaminates stick to the paint. I used it on my dad's black boat and it worked very well.

Initial results were great

And 915 apparently is identical in performance/behavior to 476. Interesting that you think it looks better than p21s. I can't disagree because I haven't used it. That's just surprising since most people also say that 845 looks better than 476.

Yeah your initial results DO look great! I wonder why you had an issue. Would you ever consider trying it over RMG again?

We have four of these stores... they all claim to have never heard of collinite!

I found it in the marine section, not the car detailing. The guys working there probably don't even know about it. Very low-key product.

Yeah I may just have to look myself, but each store i called I did tell them it may be marine and had them go LOOK for it. They all said they either didn't have it.. or didn't even have a marine section at that store. I may just go to the biggest location here and look myself for 476. Fortunately JTRX on this board is sending me some pre-voc 845 that should be here soon.

I'd just go in the store and take a look for myself. Who knows whether the people in the store actually look carefully? Most people could care less :)

I like the 845 but IMO it needs to be washed regularly. On an infreqently washed vehicle the dirt tends to stick to the 845.

So what if you used a slick QD regularly, would that cut down on the adhesion of bugs and dirt? Like after a eash wash.

Probably. IMO it's the caranauba that gets soft in the sun and then the dirt sticks. If a vehicle is washed frequently IMO it isn't a real issue. Collinite/Duragloss AW is a nice combo

If you have an Advance Auto parts store near a lake or ocean, they should have a marine section (most do not have the marine section though). Just call and ask or you can always order online from several different vendors. Good luck!
