Please clear this up for me. I got a bottle of insulator wax the other day and the instructions say to shake well before using and it may separate in warmer temperatures. The wax is so thick that there is no way you can shake it. I'm don't even know how I'll get it from the bottle. It is not as firm as paste wax, but it is definitely very thick. Is this normal?
 
Yep. Mine have been like that too. Once you get a bit out, it (obviously) shakes easier.

To get the first bit out, just squeeze the sides of the bottle and wipe onto the applicator.
 
There have been plenty other threads on this, but shake it anyway and it will liquify. As noted you may need to get some out of the top of the bottle to give some airspace, and you have to shake really hard, but once you get it liquified, it will stay that way for quite a while. Many have suggested warm water, that seems worth a try to me, to get it ready for shaking, just don't go too hot.

Mine was SO thick I couldnt shake it either. But try and shake it as hard as you can for 10 minutes straight, it will be liquid, im serious!!
 
Yeah, it will turn into an *extremely thin* liquid, hard to believe how thin it gets! Without much airspace in the (new) bottle, I often find it helpful to use a long, thin (and very clean ;) ) scrwedriver to poke the "plug" of solid wax, that's in the neck of the bottle, down into the rest of the product and also to stir it up before I start shaking it.
 
I use a long screwdriver like Accumulator and break up the middle of the bottle. After that, shake as hard as you can and it should slowly turn into a thin liquid. It should have the consistency of water.
 
yup...same thing with mine when i first got it. after shaking it should look nearly like melted butter, or at least the same consistency. i keep mine in my garage (insulated) and it has not hardened at all sitting in 40-45F temps for weeks.
 
I've noticed that what I have left of mine (really old pre-voc) is nearly always liquid now, it's a tiny amount left in the bottle. I wonder if I've used a lot of the caranuba or other things and have a lot of solvent left over? It's very hard to remove off the car now and leaves a greasy residue. I guess it's just time for a new bottle, but I'm still waiting for my sample of the new Glanz wax.
 
After shaking, I find the consistency won't be as viscous as water, however, it will be more like egg nog, or chocalate milk...and will be semi-goopy.
 
Just got my 845 IW. I love it. Makes my chrome rims shiny too! Well ya what they said. Turn it upside down, cap down (cap still on), and stroke it like you were _______________(insert favorite adult actor name here) until theres no tomorrow for like a minute. Turn it right side up and it should all be liquidy. Didn't even have to poke through it (but mine bottle was blocked when I first got it).
