Collinite facts I found out.

cant we just ask collinte to post some facts??

Heh heh, seems like manufacturers like to keep the details of their products secret for, well, obvious reasons. And it's not that uncommon for different employees to say different things, and not just at Collinite ;)

[INSERT Accumulator's usual speach about advertising hyperbole, the (mis)use of words, and all sorts of other nonsense HERE]...what can we expect, they're trying to sell product.

We go around and around on this which-Collinite thing from time to time and IMO it's really kinda pointless. Collinite waxes are all durable and they all look (at least) OK.

Want ease-of-use, a "bright" finish, and no chance of trim staining? Use 845.

Want durability and crazy beading, don't mind using a paste? Use 476S/885.

Want the above with a more "carnauba-characteristic" formula that smells better? Use 915.

And I'd still like somebody to get 476S and 915 side-by-side and settle this durability thing but I don't care enough to do it myself.

i was also under the impression 476 was the most durable one to have, and was what they use themselves

Seems a few of us got this answer and a few people got the "915 is better" one. Maybe different Collinite employees/distributors/whatever have different opinions :nixweiss

Oh, and for the "wax over KSG" thing, note that David is gonna err on the side of caution. I've used a number of different waxes over KSG and none of them have ever caused any problems. I'd think twice about using a heavy-solvent wax but cured KSG doesn't just dissolve/get compromised all that easily.

Thanks, I needed that!
