Collinite 885 in Phoenix,AZ.

davidc- Huh, surprised the Collinite lasted longer...well, you're being plenty fair about what sounds like a real Acid Test.

What do you plan to do on that step trim? You gonna go back to the Collinite or try something different?

I am not giving up ;) (yet). That piece has been a real pain for a long time and if it was not a step it would get painted. I am going to clean it up and FK half and 476S the other half and see how it goes. I really do not know what else to try on this with as much money I have thrown at it. It appears to gray under what ever is put on it as weird as it sounds.

davidec- Well, you *could* paint it....by which I mean the ValuGard Exterior Trim Restoration Kit II. Though all the UV exposure you have out there will probably fade it before too long. But...what if you ETRII'ed it and then applied some kind of UV protectant?

Eh, just throwing out ideas here.

Yeah, what bothers me with painting is someone using it for what is it there for and scratching the paint off. I do not know if bedliner (Linex etc.) material would stick to the hard plastic. I will have to crawl under and see what it takes to remove that piece and go from there.

With the ETRII kit they'd scratch the clearcoat (final step of process), which you could put on really thick and redo as needed. The black part oughta be OK. Not hard-selling or anything, just explaining. It's basically a bc/cc system as opposed to something single-stage.

Heh heh, that's assuming somebody actually put a foot on it ;) Yeah, I know...I can't get Accumulatorette to *not* step on the Tahoe's runningboard step either!

I will check into it, any recommendations where to purchase ?.

I get their stuff direct from AutoInt./ValuGard at (800) 543-7156 (the lady I always speak with is named Beth, very nice and helpful) or you could probably order off their website.
