Collinite 845 on Trim

I have been unhappy with the products I have been using on my trim, mostly due to streaking and decided to try 845 after leadfootlukes thread. I applied it to both of our cars and it looks and holds up great, except the trim on my Sierra's rear bumper. It went chalkie after a week or so.

Now what?

"Solution Finish" may be your answer.

Was it applied much thicker on the bumper than the rest of the turck? On my truck (2011 Ecoboost), the trim around the exterior windows are the dew molding are not the greatest quality and look horrible if not treated. A couple coats of 845 every month keeps them looking fine. I have not used it on the bumper though; hyper dressing 2:1 gets the job done:werd:

I don't think I applied it any thicker, though I do get overzealous from time to time... I have cleaned it off and reapplied only to get worse results. I am back to my runny stuff for now, just on the rear bumper.

UTTG+ works amazing, it's a bit pricey but it is a lot more user-friendly than 845 for trim. If you can get 845 to work on your trim, use it, but otherwise UTTG+ does extremely well for exterior trim.

Yeah, 845 is very tricky and will not necessarily play well with all plastics. It is definitely a product to test in a small spot, let it sit for a day or so, and check back on it.

Right! I've had a few situations where it didn't work well for me either.
