Collinite 476S vs. 885 vs. 915?

I have been using 476 and think it looks very good. I don't think I have the same show car eye some of the people here have though. before 476 I have been using duragloss for about 7 or 8 years, then the "old" zaino formula before that

Like others have said, Collinite openly admits that 476 and 885 are EXACTLY the same product, except 885 is larger and like you said, yields a better value per ounce.

sorry to jack your thread a little but since justin brought up smell does anyone else think 845 smells like rubber grubs used for fishing?

Not sure about the 845, but my optimum car wash smells exactly like that. It took me a little while to place it, but that is definately the smell.

:LOLOL How long it takes for smell to go away once applied?

I use 476s on the lower rocker panel for this winter season. The rocker are the worse spot for salt to hanging around.

The smell leaves as you put it on. It's not that bad. The harsh smell kinda lets me know I'm dealing with a tough product! No frills and smells.....just a tough mutha wax!

We've had other pages-long threads on the various Collinite waxes so many times that I won't bother tossing out my $0.02 this time. I suggest that people call the guys at Collinite and speak with them directly. They're very friendly and enjoy talking about their products.

They can be pretty candid about how they feel about those products too, kinda refreshing in that they sure don't come across as trying to make every penny they can off people.

I just detailed my inlaws 05 grand prix

washed, clayed, AIO/poli-seal half the hood with 1000P the other half and rest of the car with collinite 885.

Ill see how it compares after a winter in Quebec Canada

I appologize for unintentionally reraising well discussed subject. I did attempt (re)search before posting the question and while I did fidn number of posts that assured me trying them would be good I didn't manage to come across those that compared them and mentioned they are identical. It's good to know manufacturer is straightforward about their product so I will definitely give them a call once they are open.

Thank you again!

OOPS, sorry, I didn't mean to come across all :nono about it. I try not to do the "go search" response thing, I just didn't want to take the time to repeat stuff I've posted before (rushing off my posts for the day before doing Holiday errands) and it might not've directly answered your Q anyhow.

I can't remember the name of the guy many of us have spoken to at Collinite (Mike?) but yeah, IMO it's worth spending a few minutes on the phone with them.

I was just wondering if since 885 is marketed toward marine and aeronautical finishes if it will hurt a cars CC? I know everyone says it's 476 just relabeled but I'm kinda scared to try it.

TIA

I just got some 476 and i love the stuff. It beads like crazy and leaves a nice shine. I have a non-garaged car so i was looking for durability over looks. Just about every post that i read said 476 is the best for durability. I'll will wait and see. Application is really easy, a little goes a long way. Dont go to thick or you will have to work to get it off, just put a nice thin coat and buffing is a dream. anyway hope this helps

I just used 885 and no, it didn't hurt the paint. I topped it, 24 hours later, with IW. I'll layer the IW then be ready for winter.
