Cloth Seats

Hey Guys,

What have you found to be a good way to get cloth seats smelling fresh again. Don't get me wrong, it doesn't stink in the car but it is a bit stale.

If it matters, the seats are in a 2007 FJ Cruiser.

Thanks,

Les

Does the interior smell stale, or just the seats? Identifying the source of the offending odor is the key. If it is the seats, then a thorough cleaning could be the answer. I like the Blue Coral product BB mentioned above, though I generally use that for headliners and spot cleaning upholstery. For cleaning entire upholstered interiors I'll use a product from a local janitorial supply created for use with upholstery, it is more economical and easier.

If after you've cleaned the seats it still doesn't pass the smell test, borrow some of the wife's Febreeze and give that a shot.

krtoflas, wouldn't you clean the material before "sealing"?

Once you get them clean try what Mr Clean mention or maybe getting some fabric sheets that you like ( smell ) and put one under the seat ( just like the soap in a dish trick ).

I use Odoban to clean and freshen. It can also be used as a mist deodorizer for prolonged odor control.

Of course clean seats will also be odor free. Clean doesn't need a scent.

Car Pro So2Pure is the really one of the coolest products I have used and it seems to be the real deal.

I received a tiny sample of the stuff about a year ago and have a friend who probably smokes two packs of Pall Mall's a day in his truck. After vacuuming/cleaning the interior well it still stunk like cig's. We 'painted' (used a lot) of So2Pure all over the interior, carpet, seats, headliner, etc...

The odor was still there, but each day it got less and less. After about 1 week the interior was completely odorless. He still has the same truck and still smokes in it, and yet (for the most part) it doesn't stink, although I'm sure its time to reapply.

I also used So2Pure in my gym shoes (and gym bag) and it has kept them from stinking for over a year. It is a REALLY cool product and it might be very helpful with your FJ problem.

What color is your FJ btw?
