Clearkote's Clay Bar and microfiber towels

I recently ordered the Clearkote Clay Bar and 4 microfiber towels.

The bar and 16 oz of Quikshine is almost $30, but it is a substantial 200 gram bar. It is blue, similar to the Clay Magic Blue, but it feels a bit tackier. It comes in a plastic reusable container.

I cut the bar in half and put it in the container I keep in my trunk for clay (the screw top container that Meguiars Pro Bar comes in) and am keeping the other half for use when this one is done.

I've only used it on one car so far that had paint overspray from body shop repairs. The bar molds very nicely and made quick work of the overspray. It seems slightly more aggressive than the Clay Magic Blue Bar, maybe between that one and the red one. So far so good, if it works well on overspray, imbedded grit shouldn't be a problem.

The microfiber towels have 90,000 fibers per square inch if I remember right and are extremely plush and soft. They definitely seem to be a premium towel. The Clearkote site says the size is a bit larger than 12 x 12, but they are definitely wider than the 12 x 16 Turtle Wax MF towels, so I think they are probably closer to 14 x 14 or so in size. The only drawback is the hem on two ends of the towels. It is soft, but I am sure if you rub it directly on the paint, it may scratch, but the rest of the towel does pass the CD test. I haven't had any problems with the hemmed ends when using the towels normally though when folded into 1/4ths. I may cut the hems off one of the towels and see how it holds up to washing to see if it comes apart where cut.

In any event, they are very high quality towels, but at $4 each, that is what you'd expect.

I was thinking about ordering the clay bar and towels from Everett when I placed my last order. But, just yesterday I bought the Autopia Clay Bar/Towel package from the online store to support the site.

The only other clay I've previously used was from Zaino, so anything else I try will be all new to me. Plus, I just got 20 PakShak towels at the Autopian price. My guess is that they are quite equal in quality.

I just placed a CK order today for VM and QS. I was about 2 seconds from ordering the clay. I picked up some S100 instead of the MW and will probably see what this site store has to offer before ordering anything more.
