What happened to Clearkote - Red Moose Machine Glaze? A few years ago everyone was using it and every online store sold it. Did Clearkote go out of business?
 
nope still in business. seems as they have down sized(limited the number of places you can get their stuff) but still available direct. just follow Shiny Lil Detlr link.
 
Clearkote used to be sold by an import speed shop in Arlington but they went out of business years ago. Only place I can get their stuff is online.
 
Is it tougher to find than it was that's for sure.



In terms of popularity: I think it's like lots of other products used by folks on this site. New products come along and they then become the new "flavor of the month - often replacing something that works perfectly fine. Out with the old in with the new so to speak.



I joined this site back in 2004. Back then, you couldn't go 3 or 4 posts without reading about either VM or RMG. Lots of folks on here were using those products and had great results with them - then came Danase Wet Glaze, then EZ Creme then Black Hole etc etc etc. Seems like everyone feels the need to try the "new & improved" product and in turn a product that is talked about less (but works great) sort of falls out of favor on the forum here.
 
Vanilla Moose



A great all purpose polish (if there is such a thing). Works great on paint as a last step prior to your LSP. Works great on windows for removing water spots, plastic chrome, tail lights and head lights - I even use it on the ceramic cook top on our stove. A great all around products for cleaning a light polishing.
 
VM is Vanilla Moose. Light (emphasis on light) defect removal, really glossy and slick. Like to mix it with RMG to make Pink Moose. Makes an excellent final polish before waxing.
 
Prefer to use them with a machine. Polishing pad with VM, finishing pad with RMG. I guess you can do either by hand if you want.

Their pricing for a quart of RMG and VMG to make the Pink Glaze is priced really well. I'm getting some for sure... do you mix them evenly?
