clear cote and single stage paint?

just wondering with clearcote paint your not supposed to remove any more clear cote then you have to because by removing it all you can have the risk of premature paint failer .but what about single stage paint thers no clear to protect the paint what keeps it from prematue paint failer??

With single stage, protection is done via wax on top of the paint. You have the ability to 'renew' the paint by compounding the oxidation that occurs with age.



With single stage, there is no issue of 'burning through the clear', but there is that problem of burning the paint down to the metal if you use a rotary incorrectly!
