your not screwed! listen start with 600 grit wetsand paper. wetsand till all areas are flat. this will take some time. then move to 800 grit to remove the 600 marks. then move to 1000 grit to remove the 800 marks then move to 2000 grit to remove the 1000 marks. at this point you should see a slight haze on the lights this now can easliy buffed out with a rotary and some light compound, then polish and wax. this will give you a great new looking light. the only problem with this method is that you took off all the uv coating in the lens. ( which was probaly already done since someone cleared them before) with a little up keep by waxing them you should keep a nice finish. good luck any ? pm i got tons of pics of restored headlight repair! goodluck this is the best method.
