Clear Coat in a spray can.

If you have areas that you have "worked" down because of excessive polishing in a problem area, can you get/use a rattle can of clear coat? This is meant totally as a small area fix.

For that matter is factory color paint available in a rattle can so an area can be shot, sanded, then shot with clear coat and polished out with the PC 7424?

No, I haven't done it! This is a hypothetical question on availability of rattle cans and capabilities of performing the task.
 
I have seen rattle cans of clear coat before, but I have no experience with it so i cannot say whether it is a good product or not
 
Yes you could phyiscally do it provided the surface is prepped properly but it will not look right and the edges will start to peel along with some other issues.



Modern Urethane Clear Coats are two part systems that cannot be sold in a rattle can. That stuff in the cans is Acrylic Clear Coat which is not as durable as the other.

Yeah, there are clears that blend into existing paint quite well (Spies Hecker has one out that one of my painters *loves* for this characteristic) but AFAIK they aren't available in rattle cans.
 
I wouldnt recommend it because different its likely not going to match the factory clear. I painted one of the door jambs on my 91 toyo camry and color coat matched with the exterior paint but when I sprayed clear on it the hue was bit yellower.
