Clear bra care

I am wondering what you guys do in the case of clear bras. Tonight i am speaking at a PCA (Porsche Club of America) meeting and a lot of the owners have clear bras on their new cars. I thought that you just taped off the beggining of the clear bra (so you dont bring the edges up) and then continue on it like it was paint, but i looked a a few click and brags and everyone puts like plexus or something else on it (no polish). How do you guys treat clear bras.

Thanks in advance everybody,

Daniel

I just traded a 2004 that had a clearbra on it. I loved it and therefore had one installed on my 2008.

I found that it really did not require any maintenance except for washing and the like. I think the main thing is to stay away from anything that is the least bit abrasive and you will be fine. Mine was 3M product and there were no special instructions. I think you just have to make sure that you do not use anything that is the least bit abrasive and it will maintain its clarity. Mine certainly did on the 2004. It did save me a lot of paint damage and yes I did even have a small tear caused by a stone. That tear would have been an ugly dent and chip had it hit bare paint.

There is no reason you can't put a sealant on it.

Danny (basebalover) were just talking about this over AIM. We know you can put sealants and waxes on them but the question is can you use abrasives to get out scratches and maring like you can with paint

From everything that I have read, the answer would be no.

I think it would be interesting to see someone try this on a clear bra that is going to be replaced anyway to see what would happen if a polish was used.

I would expect that you could use a gentle plastic polish on a problem area. I never had reason to try it. The information about sealants is correct as you can use a pure sealant without any abrasive in it.
