Cleaning rear wheel wells?

Hello,

How do most of you clean the REAR wheel wells, since they don't have the plastic covering, mine look horrible. Degreaser + pressure wash? Thanks!

ah careful there, young padawan! if yours are like mine, they've got a sprayed-in rubberized coating that degreaser and power washing will strip... ask me how I know... :D I've got a can of 3M rubberized undercoating waiting for me to get motivated and jack the rear end up for a respray.

Right over the old stuff, I assume... after a little more cleaning :)

Sorry I can't offer any other suggestions. Maybe a nice firm blast from the hose (no degreaser) and then a few coats of Trim & Motor Kote once it's all dried out? I think it'd absorb a lot, but at some point you'll get the product layering on the outside and giving you a nice dark shine... maybe...

Trim & Motor Kote? Never heard of it, I don't have many OTC trim dressings, I mostly use Trim Shine (too expensive to use for the wheel wells though) and Armor All, maybe AA will work.

I prefer to apply black Rustoleum to the fenderwells & underbody (by brush/small roller) after deep cleaning them. It is much more durable than any of the spray on undercoatings I've tried and since you're not spray-applying it, there's no overspray to worry about.
