Cleaning/protecting matte vinyl stripes?

Afternoon gents, a customer contacted me about cleaning up his matte vinyl stripes on his new Mustang. He took it to a local place and they used their random orbitals on it to apply wax, but didn't tape off the stripes and now they are discolored.

I'm going to take a look at it this week, but are there any go-to products that yall use to, not only clean the stripes, but return them to normal matte coloring?

I don't have any of the Swissvax Opaque products, so I was wondering what else would work to clean them up and protect them.

Thanks everyone!

Kody, cleaner wax will work. Just don't wipe down the decals with IPA they will be discolored permanently ! Opaque works ok, don't really know if it's worth it though?

Shawn (posts as sullysdetailing) posted a Mustang that had the same problem you posted. I think he used a cleaner wax to clean up the stripes. Let me see if I can find the post

Adam's Brilliant Glaze works well on these. It has some solvents in it that help with the cleaning. Not sure if other glazes contain solvents, but they may. For protection, a water based tire/trim protectant should work, but may need to be wiped after application to knock the shine.

just a question here, wouldnt collinite 845 work to fix this as it wont stain trim if wiped off soon enough? as i said dont use this until others chime in.

A mild (highly diluted) APC should work. Whatever you choose, make sure to test a small inconspicuous spot first!
