Cleaning cloth seats after a fire

I'm looking at buying some replacement seats for my truck and I only want cloth seats. However, they are coming from a truck that caught on fire. The seller says they have a strong smoke smell. How would I go about removing this? If this has been covered, please forgive my ignorance.
 
I would contact the trucking company. I am sure they have insurance, but I would not settle for anything that was in a fire.
 
Maybe I shouldn't have said "truck". It's a Dodge pickup. Looking at putting in seats out of a newer truck.



Not trying to come off as an ***, but I just want to know how is the best way to clean these. Not debate on what I should do about buying seats out of a fire damaged vehicle.
 
I imagine your best best is a deep, wet, soaking shampoo a few time over. It's going to be tough, the smoke probably penetrated to the core of the foam and structure, you'd almost need to tear the upholstery right off to clean the foam completely.
 
From experience..... avoid these seats because the smoke smell will be very strong when you get into the vehicle after the windows have been up on a sunny day. Unless of course that would not bother you.
 
An ozone machine, fogger and some specialized chemicals are the only ways I know of to eradicate smoke odor. The money you save on the seats would be mitigated by the cost of cleaning the seats. Smoke, ash and the other byproducts of combustion don't come out from normal cleaning methods. That stuff is pretty toxic and the chemicals used to clean are toxic too. With that being said, maybe you can call a fire/disaster remediation company(one that repairs homes after fires or cleans up crime scenes) and they can give you a quote on cleaning them.
