Hi everyone. I've been haunting your forum for the past few months trying to bring my detailing knowledge back up to speed. And I finally decided to register/post tonight!
Here is my story....
When I was younger (18-20) I had a small auto detailing company that specialized in cleaning the cars of old folks who live in Ritzy retirement communities near Philly, PA. But then I went off to college, graduated with a healthcare business degree and got caught up in the corporate rat race. That corporate life is why I am here in sunny SoCal now. But that job is history. I knew it was coming for a few months. So I decided it was time to jump off the 'sold my soul' corporate bandwagon and get the detailing company going again! It's sunny and warm all year round. There are tons of millionaires out here in the OC and very few of them wash their own cars. This is the perfect place to have a detailing business!
In this town, presentation is everything. So my business vehicle is a 1961 Austin Mini. Since people out here are so environmentally conscious, and since I don't want the mess of carrying around a big water tank and a pressure washer, I use Poorboys S&W to do my washes....followed up with the quick touch of a damp microfiber to remove any final smudging. I don't make a mess. I don't pollute the ground water or the nearby ocean. People are digging it! So wish me luck! I gotta pay the rent soon!
