cleaning Blackfire Wet Diamond pads

I agree with TBird, I have learned a lot from this site over the last 8 months since I took delivery of a black PT Cruiser and decided to get serious about detailing.

I never dreamed I would ever work so hard or spend so much money on detailing, but it is worth it!!

The Cruiser has Klasse-Blitz on it now but I just ordered a bunch of Zaino stuff, never satisfied, always looking for a little more shine.

Thanks everyone.

My first post. :D

I can't get this thread into the new University forum. It has several catagories of forums that say No Posting. ??????:nixweiss

anyone else having any trouble getting BFWD out of your pads? I tried my usual regimen of soaking in snappy pad cleaner and rinsing, then tried some apc and rinsing and while squeezing the rinse water out product still seemed to be in the pad.

open to suggestions........

I use a dedicated pad for BF Wet Diamond so I don't worry about cross contamination.

I have come to that same point but was wondering how old product just sitting in the pad would affect later uses.

Glad to see it's not only me with the problem. It's not enough to keep me away from BFWD though. Love that stuff! Plus my wife loves it as well. I had my truck in the garage last night after the first coat and this morning put a second coat on. She went down there before I buffed it off and said " wow, that wax smells great!!" and I said, " dear, that's not wax....that's WET DIAMOND!!"

I wouldnt worry about it. As long as there is no dirt in the pad you are fine. WD is the only sealant I have been unable to clean from a pad. I clean the pad to make sure it isnt dirty, I dont worry about the old sealant in it.

I have my 2 pads mark "BFWD", and I do clean them after each use. I then put them in a zip lock bag that is mark also.

I guess that since it protects paint so well, it protects the foam pad just as well;)

Has anyone tried using an APC to clean the pads?

I've used lots of sealants.

BFWD is the only one I've ever used that won't wash out of the pad!!! It doesn't seem to matter what I use.

I'm like Angelo. I dedicate a couple foam (manual) pads and a couple 5.5" 3M black waffle pads to WD. I spray with Purple Power, throw in a sink of warm water and hand wash.

Rinse with cold water, squeeze out, let air dry.

WD still in the pad. No problem.

I thought it was just me!

Im still using the little yellow foam pad my BFWD came with, and still on the first bottle, so I just keep the foam pad in an airtight bag, and it comes out still moist and ready to rock and roll everytime I use it.

Im not ready yet and dont have enough work to sacrifice a bigger pad for it, and then leave all that extra product in the pad to try to clean out. I would rather just have a smaller pad to soak it up but if when I get busier like you guys do, then I may have to do what you do to see if it will speed up the worktime..
