Cleaning an RV....

My uncle wants me to clean his RV and I looked at it today. It has these black streaks that run down from most of the windows and on the front windshield. I was just wondering what would be best to get rid of these. I have to go over there on Tuesday and just want to be prepared to get them gone. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

The black stuff close to the windows is the main stuff I am trying to get rid of.....

What have you tried thus far?

A degreaser wouldn't be too agressive if you were careful with it -- But it isn't what I would do.

I would first clay the areas and see if it picks it up.

If not,.. I would spot polish -- Those look like soil runoff that has been there quite some time and embedded itself a bit.

It wouuld be quite the job to polish an entire RV, but spot polishing would work, though the differences in finish from polish to non might be too great.

Although clay might pull it right out.

I did try a very watered down degreaser and it got some to half of it off of the back side.....I have not tried to clay it yet...

I have a motor home and these black streaks are common. A good APC will take them off. If you want to kill two birds with one stone use a good AIO.

Zep makes a product called RV-Bright that works great. I dillute it and use a bug-pad to get rid of dirt and black streaks (takes some elbow grease) Only downfall is you have to buy it in bulk.....comes in 5 gal bucket or by the case in five 1 gallon containers.......
