Clean4U's Engine Detailing Process.....

Here is a detail I did a while back. Not a glamorous, exotic car but just a true turnaround on a work truck..........

I got a call last night from a friend who coached my kid's soccer teal last year. He also owns/manages a local electronics store here in Blue Ridge. Seems that he came across a repo that came back to a bank that he deals with. He wanted me to return it to as-new-as-possible condition since he will be reselling it ASAP. I showed up, looked at it, passed out, woke up, and drove off to clean it.

Here's the process....

Engine bay....
(ZEP's Industrial Degreaser and Meguiar's Hyper-Dressing 4:1)
Most of you know my process for this. I wet down the truck and raise the hood. I sprayed ZEP's Industrial Degreaser (4:1) all over the engine. The motor was cool. I closed the hood and went to work on the tires and wheel...wells too. I sprayed them down with ZEP's Industrial Degreaser . By the time I got back around to hood, it was ready to open. My tires/wheels/wells are now soaking. I blasted the heck out the engine. I keep the nozzle back so not to flood the bay. I want to mainly use the pressurized air and mist to remove the dirt and chemical. I then cover the bay with Meguiar's Hyper-Dressing and shut the hood. I then turn the engine on and proceeded to wash.

Wash Cycle....
(NXT Tech Wash with black Wheel ShMitt)
Boy this thing was dirty. The Wheel ShMitt took care of it quickly. I then came back and washed the wheels again with the ShMitt. I finally dried the surface with a Guzzler.

Paint Polish and Protection....
Poorboy's Polish with Sealant (PwS)
(Used EDGE2K Yellow Pad at a #6 PC setting)
No major paint work on this one. Not that it didn't need it but it really wasn't the focus. There was some large dents from a hail storm and tons other dents and scratches. I just wanted the paint clean and soft. Boy, did PwS clean! I had to wash my pad out twice before I was done! I then removed the haze with DP's Final Gloss and an MF towel.

Interior.....
Meguiar's APC
Meguiar's Detailer Line Glass Cleaner
Meguiar's Hyper-Dressing
(Applied with various towels and MF applicators)
All panels were cleaned the sealed. Seats were shapoo'd and extract with my vac. When it came to floor, it was time for an experiment. Armor All Tire Foam. I cleaned all debris off and covered the floor with the foam. I then closed the doors and turned the heat on for about 10 minutes. WOW! All that was left was a few pools of white liquid. I wiped the floor down with my MF mitt. The best part.......it was not greasy! Not one bit. I think they turned out great. It was the first thing the customer commented on too.

Spare was on the vehicle. There was a flat. Tire was fixed so I cleaned and dressed it!
