I recently took off the side molding of a 97 Tahoe andone side came off perfectly, but the other side had a line where the adhesive was. I cannnot get it off goo gone, clay, alcholol or any other compound. Im guessing wet sanding is next? What would I need? What grit? Anything I need to know?

Its kinda of hard to explain, Its not an adhesive and i can slowly scratch it away with my finger nail, but clay bar will do nothing to touch it. Just glides over it like it wasnt there.

Try heating up a small area at a time with a hair dryer, being careful not to over do it? then add some 50/50, water and alcohol mix! Use a foam pad to try and remove it, the empty pockets in the foam helps!

get some 3m adhesivwe remover, or some prepsol, let it soak for a bit, and then remove a little at a time. It may be tedious, but it will remove the gunk

How about some mineral spirits? I just removed some obnoxious gunk (think it was tar) off my rocker panels with mineral spirits. I read somewhere in this forum that it's the equivalent of the 3M adhesive remover. I can't vouch for that comment though. Could someone more knowledgeable comment?
