Claying Using QD's...

After cleaning out my basement, I found the following Quick Details:

Griot's Speed Shine, McCall's Sprint, Finish Kare, QuickShine, Meguiar's Final Detail, One Grand Show-Off, 1Z Raindance, Menzerna HGAS.

I want to use some of these up next year as a lubricant for clay.

This year I used up some auto shampoos with distilled water as a lubricant

Are QD's compatible with the claying process? Anyone use QD's with clay? Do you need to mix with water?

I used a QD for a clay lube. I do not know about the other product but I would say you are fine. I have the same issue. How to I get the old products used up............

jmsc- Of the QDs you listed, I can only recall claying with the Griot's Speed Shine. It seems to "buffer" the clay a lot, reducing its effectiveness a little bit but also providing great lubrication. Since Griot pushes it as a match to his clay, it oughta work fine with all the other clays that appear to be identical. A bit heavy on the wax/whatever-it-is for my taste when claying, but not a bad lube by any means. I've never tried claying with my Quikshine or my FK stuff (425) but they oughta work OK too. Dunno about the others...

You sure can use a QD for claying but test it out with a small piece of clay first. I ever tried using the Black Magic QD as clay lub and the QD actually 'melt' down the clay.
