claying necessary?

Last time i clayed was about 3-4 weeks ago. I did the plastic bag test and i could definetly feel some contaminates but it was relitively minor. I'd really like to skip this step and go straight to polishing tonight since i dont have any clay. Will it make much of a difference if i skip claying this time around?

the polishing should remove any contaminents that claying would otherwise remove. there shouldnt be much contamination anyways considering you clayed 4 weeks ago.

You don't have to clay the whole car. If you felt contamination in a few spots, just clay those spots. It shouldn't take too long.

Try polishing the rough spots and retry the plastic bag test. If the roughness is gone - BINGO.
