Claying after sealing

BlackSunshine

2005 Chev Cavalier, Black
Hi guys,
I'm new to the site and I'm getting the car (Blacksunshine) ready for summer soon. Just a question about claying after sealing. I recently bought an 05 cavalier, black of course, in November. I haven't clayed or polished the car when first bought because I didn't think it needed it. Key word "think". Anyways, I applied about three coats of acrylic sealant "Crystal-Glo" by hand at this time. I must say it looks awesome....but now I want to give it the full meal deal.....buying a PC, clay, polish, Crystal-glo sealant and S100. Just wondering what to do about the sealant....I can tell it's still on there pretty good....will this affect claying? Will the crap be sealed into the paint? Any suggestions will be appreciated.

Welcome to the DC . No fear , when your ready to do a full detail on the car , you could use a product with a cleaner and polish in it, ( some suggestions Klasse All In One, Meguiars #83 Dual Action Cleaner and Polish these will strip your sealant along with your soap and clay.) Apply your sealant and or the topping of your choice.

so....clay then use the pre-wax cleaner, glaze and sealant. In other words, just ignore the sealant and continue as I was going to?

Mothers Per wax cleaner should do it. No matter what steps you do , you always want to protect the finish with either a sealant and top with your favorite wax., or just use the sealant.
