Clay leaving minnor places

Im using Turtle waxes 2 step clay system. Wet clay then a clay bar with there luburication. Worked great to remove the track prep crap they use on the drag strip.:o But it is leaving places in the paint what can I do to get them out. Will wax take them out, Ive been using Zymol cleaner wax. Works well for me in the past, or what would be the best thing to do. Also what is a good wax to make my red Cobra have that wet look. Thanks

What exactly is the clay doing to the paint? Leaving clay behind? Marring the paint? Or not removing contaminants? What do you mean by "leaving places in the paint"?



I think Blackfire would compliment your red Cobra.
 
You should use the clay bar itself to grab the chunks. If you are having this happen the clay is either junk, or you are not using enough lubrication.



Is it streaking as you use it too?
 
looks like minor scratches to me, not very bad or deep. Just wondering if i need to run a buffer on it to get them out, I have a dewalt buffer with the black pad and 3m buffing compounds. I really dont want to buff it. Thanks for all the help keep the ideas coming. Thanks
 
is it scratching the paint when you clay it? Is there stuff in the bar that is scratching the paint.



I got a Turtle wax bar but think Im going to stick with the megs bars.

I have not tried the Blackfire polishes. I was suggesting the the Blackfire Midnight Sun Wax giving your red Cobra a wet look. Fix the fine scratches first though. See if you can post a pic and I'm sure one of the guys will suggest a way to fix it. Claying the car should not scratch it. If it is you may need to re-fold the clay or use more clay lube.

Wont let me upload pics. Great anways Ive been using lots of of the clay lube, and still leaves minnor marring in paint. What do I need to do buff it or what, really dont want to any ideas?:thx

If the clay is in good condition, you're using lube, and folding the clay after each panel, you should not have marring. It's possible the marks are pre-existing. Sorry (more than likely) the only way to remove them is by polishing.

a css white(or equivilent) pad, and a finishing polish could do, depending on how sever these scratches are. You could try m83, or any finishing polish.
