I'm glad that someone posted this link...I got one of these about 6 months ago from local supplier....I have used it off and on during that time....they are OK IMO not a replacement for clay.....I really didn't get the feeling like it was doing the same job as clay..meaning lifting what clay dose....I use it now and then but I guess I'm ole school about clay

My concern would be that any contaminant would be left on the surface of the "sponge" and be dragged across the paint. With the clay you can fold them "safely" into the center of the clay and away from the paint.

wait the rubbery side rubs on the paint? To me that would seem worse...
even if it was porous, it would be to let in the spray, but I would think surface contaminents would just sit on it not getting absorbed and marr the paint.
