Clay Bar recommendation

Are you planning to order some products? If so, from where? This will help answer. I've used the white OTC Meg's bar a few times and it's HORRIBLE compared to Poorboys, BlackFire, Z18, Optimum, etc...

i wasn't planning on ordering from any particular place. It all depends on the most common bar you guys recommend.

Any of the bars via the DC sponsors are grade A. You can't go wrong with the Poorboys bar.

Theres not really a best. Most of the clay sold in the usa are the same clay just relabled/redyed.

With that being said, it comes to what the best deal is. 200 gram claymagic bar in either fine or medium grade is around 20 bucks whereever you decide to buy from.

If you're not ordering it, go to Pep Boys or other store of the like, and get the Meguiar's Smooth Surface Clay Kit. Works great for me, and I do some beat-ass cars that have never been taken care of.

+ 1 for PB's claybar. I had some major IFO and went through claymagic, megs, megs agressive, then PB's. Steve claybar worked as good as Megs agressive, and cheaper $$.

Personally, I shop for clay by price. My understanding is that one company holds the patent for clay and they have licensed one manufacturer to make clay. So, all clay despite the brand name is made in the same factory.

From what I understand all the clay is made from the same ingredients, but not necessarily in the same concentrations. Concentrations of the ingredients along with the color of the clay is specified by the owner of the brand.

I've probably tried 6+ different brands of clay (all mild, medium, or fine) and they all seemed to perform pretty much the same.

I have used the P&S clay system. the supplier brought me some no brand polyester bars that I have tried with good results. They don;t seem to work as well on a surface with alot of overspray or conatminents though.

Well not really, obviously the heavier clays leave marring which you have to polish out and even the CM blue bars dull the finish a tiny bit
I love sonus ultra fine because it is ultra easy to knead, does not dull surface and can be used as much as you like
