Clar bar on back window to get watespots off? Am I doing something wrong?

Just went to autozone and picked up some clay magic clay bar kit with lube.

My 03 cobra on the back window has heavy water spots and I've seen people use clay to get them off..

First I spray a good amount of lube but it's just sloopy and feels smooth then the lube starts to dry up and it gets very hard to move the clay but it starts to make marks on the window? Am I suppoused to spray a lil more lube so it won't smuge or just keep going.. The window looks a lil cleaner butstill has water spots from the previous owner
 
Just as in other things in life, you can never have too much lube. I use Klasse AIO for the tougher spots on my glass. It works well with a little elbow grease.
 
LUBE LUBE LUBE, lots of it! I find that CK vanilla moose wax hand glaze applied via PC works wonders on windows. Might also want to try alcohol or white vinegar if the clay doesnt work.
 
im not sure how much pressure you use but apply enought also use shorter strokes, but it seems you might have hit your limit so you didnt state what you have on hand, so i would try some type of cleaner, the post above suggested some so i wont name that but OTC is Megs DC paint cleaner #1, again just type in water spot(hard water spots -var.) in the search feature and you can find many method to attack these defects.....

What are you guys using to apply K-AIO by hand to the windows? I've tried using a generic mf towel with KAIO, but I haven't had any luck so far with it against window water spots.
 
I've never tried it, but "0000" Steel Wool used with a good glass cleaner is supposed to work really well.
 
I just use a microfiber applicator pad. Mist it with detail spray first and then put the Klasse on. Don't be afraid to scrub it good.

Heck yea. Steel wool is the shiz for anything on windows. Makes em look brand new!
 
I had a severe case of waterspots on all the glass on my '88 Mark VII. I tried the clay bar route, magic eraser, and was finally able to remove them using 0000 steel wool and Megs NXT. If the spots are sever...it will take a lot of elbow grease to remove them. If you have a pc, You can use an orange LC pad and any paint cleaner.

my windows had the horrid water spots you are referring to, i did a 3 step process but it was all in a diamondite kit... great results ... but im sure the AIO's people are mentioning will do the trick
