CL600 Hood and NXT

It has been beautiful here, sunny skies and a high of 72:bounce

I have been pretty busy and did two details today, one the CL600 below and a black Suburban.

I started the black suburban late in the day and the doctor came out before I could snap off a few pics. On the suburban I used Light Cut, applied by Cyclo, AIO by hand and finished the whole thing off with NXT. The NXT goes on easy and comes off easy and gives the paint an enhanced gloss on top of the AIO, which darkens the paint to begin with.

The CL I did early in the day and I only did the hood with the NXT while the rest of the car got Light Cut, AIO and P21S. The NXT has a very nice smell to it, in fact I can't really pinpoint the smell but it kinda smells like St. Joseph baby aspirin:nixweiss

I am doing a few more details between tomorrow and Saturday, another Mercedes, a black 360 and I think on Friday a black H2, and I am interested to see how the NXT works and looks on those colors.

I only have 3 pics of the CL and here they are.

Looks great as always Anthony!

Just curious, why did you use NXT only on the hood and P21S on the rest? Just to see how they compare?

Another suggestion if you have any Meguiars #20 laying around, use it instead of AIO and then top with NXT. I've used it on both red, grey and white vehicles with excellent results.

Glad to hear the weather is better for you, sunny and about 68 here. About time we get above average for highs. I am really sick of 30s and 40s when our average high the past three weeks range from the upper 50s to low 60s.

Thanks to all:)

andriver,

Yeah I liked the NXT enough to include it in my aresenal (which needs to be thinned out or I'll need a bigger truck soon!:D )

Scott,

I had pretty much had it waxed when I remembered I had bought some NXT over the weekend DUH! So I had the hood left to do and figured I would give it a try.

I don't have any #20 but I may experiment a bit with UPP and maybe Poorboys EX and see how that works with the NXT.

As for the weather.....well I did not work one day last week! It was just a huge depressing week of rain, sleet and freakin cold weather. Now I am getting slammed this week.....feast or famine, eh?

Take care,

Anthony

Anthony-I actually worked a few days last week...actually, Sunday the 8th, half days on Monday and Tuesday, full day on Thursday and again on Sunday as the snow melted quickly away. Absolutely swamped this week. :up

I know what you mean about lots of product, right now, I am carrying with me Meguiars DACP, SFP, HP, #20, #16, NXT, #38, ScratchX and Citri-Gel cleaner, Clearkote's Blue Moose, Vanilla Moose, Moose Wax and Carnauba Moose, Klasse twins, UPP, Grojet2000 (an AIO like product I got from jgv), S100, Poorboy's EX Sealant with Carnauba and the test version without carnauba, PwC, SSR1, SSR2 and Natty Paste Wax, Menzerna Final Polish and a few 3M products (can't remember which ones).

I am testing out the ying-yang right now!

Anthony-haven't had a chance to test it yet, I just got it a few days ago. jgv suggesting I try it and top it with either S100 or CMW.

How do you like the Menzerna Final Polish?

I used menzerna FP on the hood of my m3 and topped it with s100 looks great. Here is a pic..

Scott, that version of Menzerna FP isn't yet available on the USA, it's supposed to be a silicone free glaze with no abrasiveness. I sugested you to top it with Winners Choice Finishing Cream, for a clear glossy finish.

What I suggested to top with S100 was the 3M Finishing Glaze (European version).

Anthony, I can get you some of each Menzerna products in case you don't have them yet. Let me know.

Anthony,

The MB looks awesome!:up

Mantic,

You hood looks awesome as well. I thought the hood was off the vehicle at first until I noticed the windsheild above it.

Great work:xyxthumbs
