had a guy call me from citysearch.com stating for $350/month he could get me some good positioning on citysearch.com (pay per click) and that would also filter down to google/yahoo/msn organic searches too.



anyone have any experiene with citysearch. He walked me through a few things...seemed like it's benefitting other detailers across the city, but could I just be another fish in the sea if I join up?
 
I look at all the other online directories (yahoo, yellow pages, google, bing... just to name a few) that are free and I have a real hard time validating paying to be listed in any sort of online directory.



Ask yourself a couple questions: What is the goal of setting up a listing? If it is to ultimately get higher google rankings, is there a way you can get the same results at no cost? I know you're a web/seo guy so I find it really hard validating paying money for something that (IMO) isn't likely to help much.



However, I have no experience with citysearch so my assumptions could be completely off.
