Cinco De Mayo

So what's on the menu for the day? It's a bit cool and almost rainy here. I'm wishing for maybe some Caldo de Rez, but I know that isn't on the menu since there isn't anything in the pot and our local restaraunt only serves in on Friday, Saturday, and sometimes Sunday.

Where do you live? You should to SA. There are some places around here that sell it almost on a daily basis.

I'm in the D/FW area. We have lots of Tex-Mex dining choices ranging from decent to very good. Just about all of them offer their version of Tortilla soup daily, but not caldo like our steady haunt. Not bragging (well, yeah...I am ) we make a tortilla soup that rivals any that I have eaten. I do a pretty fair version of caldo de rez also, but not quite up to par with this place. They also do a very mean plato de guisado, it'll steam your glasses.

Where do you like to eat in SA? Mi Tierra's is a pretty safe bet. When in Austin, a stop at Matt's El Rancho is all but guaranteed.
