Chrome and Glass Polish

MP525i

FRODRICK!!!
hey guys,

i picked this stuff up from rightlook.com about 2 years ago. i didn't have much chrome to worry about but i had the intention of using it on glass for hard water marks. *btw- works like a charm on windows*

a little back story here: i purchased a 2000 m coupe a little over 2 months ago. i needed snow tires and wheels for the winter. the guy who had the car before me had an extra set of wheels and tires (the wheels are oem- thank goodness).

the only downside was he said they were pretty beat up and washing didn't help much. *i also found out they were chrome (not a big fan of that). but regardless, i was getting a sweet deal.

so i thought i could clean the wheels up. i used a traditional soap and water technique (wet it down and scrub like hell with the mitt). haha.

this is how far i got:

this is the rear wheel:

i was getting no where fast so i decided to use the chrome and glass polish.

this is the front wheel:

here in the final picture, you can see the rim is still a little beat, but there's a shine now that was present before.

i figured some might need this product for their wheels. this stuff also does wonders for exhausts too!

WOW what a difference with that! Haven't heard much about rightlook's products in a while. I bet the previous owner was glad to get rid of those old, ugly wheels... but what did he know! :) How do you apply it? With a towel and then wipe off? Looks good, Good work.

they cleaned up pretty well! I was going to recommend re-chrome, but after seeing that these are going to be the winter beaters I retract that.

Congrats on the M Coupe, she's a beauty.
I was looking on ebay recently and a chrome set like yours were listed at 2275 so you did well to get them as a part of the purchase.
I take my coupe (Imola) off the road for winter because I'm just too scared of either loosing it at warp2 or having somebody sliding into me at warp7. There were only 2800 Z3 M Coupes in all of North America, 6000 world wide, so they're a bit rare.
What did you decide on for snow tires?

thanks john. i think i've seen your coupe on bf.c. :)

bridgestone blizzack lm-22's. i had ws-50's on my old '95 m3 and went through 6 inches without a problem. needless to say that i hope i don't get caught in anything like that with the coupe.

I would have painted them black. Black wheels on an estorial Mcoupe=
