Choosing the right style and type of DA polisher

I think as the Rupes gets into more hands you will see quite a few reviews hit the forums. Maybe the King of the Hill will be occupied by another machine at this time next year.

Plus a new Griots model and there is the 3D polisher.

I would like to see something about the Rupes DA. It is pricey but like to see a review.

That is a very professional oriented machine and quite rare this side of NAmerica. That being said, love to hear the info from the big pro's using that.

My griots is still chugging along just fine, it really is a great combo for the price.

New Griots?

6" Random Orbital

Available December 3rd, Pre-Order Yours Today!

Same Great Power, Now With More Control

I constantly evaluate our products so we can offer the best tools to help you have fun in your garage. Our 1st generation random orbital brought safe and effective dual action machine polishing to a wide audience.

Our 2nd generation orbital set the industry standard for performance with its powerful, 7-amp, 850-watt motor. Striving for perfection, we set out to improve upon this benchmark machine, taking into account thoughtful feedback from our great customers.

After rigorous testing, I am proud to introduce the 3rd generation Griot's Garage random orbital. Our new orbital offers the same great power as the previous version, but we redesigned the exterior to achieve a new level of comfort and ease of use.

We kept the adjustable handle but added a rubberized grip to it. We added molded hand and finger grips to the housing, along with a domed, rubberized palm grip. We moved the speed control dial and power switch to more convenient locations. Polishing and waxing your paint with a random orbital has never been more easy, safe, and fun.

Been hearing that the DA is dead from some folks. Wonder if they ever use one when starting to learn how to use a machine on paint. When I started it was the rotary and no DA's around....1970

I think the 3401 gives the absolute beginners the ability to deliver near professional results right out of the box. I have seen RO DA's do amazing things, with enough skill/education. All the tools remove paint, but for the beginner who wants the maximum effect with the smallest learning curve, the FLEX3401 is king.

I appreciate the thoughtfulness you've given my question and hopefully this will assist a fellow Autopian in making the right buying decision.
