hey everyone,
just getting into detailing this spring, and the 2 cars im going to be working on the most are my own, an 06 honda civic (atomic blue), and an 04 honda s2000 (suzuka blue)
Both are in pretty decent condition, i would say light swirls but other than that, nothing extreme like some of the stuff on here that gets corrected. A couple things about both cars though, the trunk on the civic has a line across it from where a spoiler used to sit, and its left some scuff marks as well as some black residue. On the S2k, there is 1 scratch about 2" long on the rear 1/4. It doesn't really catch my fingernail in a groove, it more feels like its going overtop of a scuff or that there is something on the paint.
Now im just trying to pick the best products, and decent prices for the job. Im looking to remove the swirls, and of course protect the paint as well.
Im going to be using a flex DA the 3401, and am thinking about the following products
-M83
-Einszett glanz + P21S 100% on top
Now im thinking, is the M83 going to be enough with the flex to take off minor swirls + the scratches on both cars? I'm thinking the M83 might be strong enough for the swirls, but maybe not for the scratches, but i don't really want to invest in a huge bottle of something to only use on 2 scratches...
Also, whats good to finish off the M83 with to get it LSP ready?
I would ideally try the M83 first with a white pad (LC CCS) to see if that will correct (would this be an ideal place to start? i know you start at the least aggressive) and if this doesn't work i would go down to an orange, and maybe for the scratches even a yellow?
Any advice you guys can give that would be great...i know there is the menzerna stuff, but im really liking the price of the M83!
