How do you order directly from the manafactures of like Meguires? I've been reading your posts about chems and then visited the Meguires website however cant find proctus labeled #8 or #7 just curious...

Tim :woot:

I don't think you can order DIRECTLY from them, but they distribute to retailers all over the country. Try looking under your yellow pages for automotive detail supply or paint supply.

The e-store is down right now, so you can't order, and the search function seems to be all screwed up, too. I really don't get it, it's been messed up for about 3 weeks...although they say they are changing it to an Oracle database...which means it may *never* work right! ;)

The numbers we use are slightly different than the whole product code megs uses for example #7 = M0716 the 16 I think is the size of container it comes in 16 = 16oz bottle

M0764 would be #7 show car glaze in a 64oz bottle.

Thanks guys you're awesome!!! I've just started to out fit and not sure what products to use? Has anyone used PRO products? www.prowax.com... If so what is your take? Thanks for all the help :-D You guys really help us newbies to the scene... I really shouldnt say im a newbie...just never this much into it ...

Direct online sales is only a microscopic percentage of Meg's business. Their real sales channels are through automotive suppliers. I think they mostly do the online thing to give customers whose local suppliers have limited stock access to the entire product line.

They have a dealer locator on their website to find local suppliers.

Maybe it's just me but I think the new layout of their online product catalog is really lame. I can navigate it ok but I already know the product line. It seems like it would be seriously sucky for somebody who was new to Meguiar's stuff.

While their online system is down (or any time) you can order by phone by calling Customer Care at 1-800-347-5700

Oh, and :welcome to Autopia tbrillant

The Chemical Guys (www.chemicalguys.com) are a real good supplier of wholesale chemicals. I buy their Liquid Extreme Shine Dressing, Spray wax and QD, and Blue Rim Cleaner (crappy rim cleaner, top-notich APC) by the gallon. Their clay, XXX Hardcore Paste Wax and compound are all pretty good too, as are their microfiber towels. I haven't used anything else they sell, but from what I've seen their other products should be keepers too. Many of their products are comprable to Poorboy's at a much lower price, the only PB's products I use currently are Spray and Rinse and Blue Natty's.

I don't use much of Meg's either, IMHO they may have been king 5 years ago, but they are a little behind the times. Their Hyper Dressing and #40 Trim dressing are quite good, but STAY AWAY from their #7.

Hey Tim!
