Anyone ever use CG Polishing Compounds? How do you like them and do they work well in the sun? Are these good to use with a PC 7424?



Also has anyone tried one of their sealants? If so, which one and how was the protection, durability, etc. etc.
 
i have been using Revive glaze and polish for a year



i really like it ! it really restores a brilliant shine!! and it really doesnt get much better when i wax it.. that is how good it is.. i must be using a bad wax or somthing..



i use revive glaze and polish + CG TOp coat sealent

How do you like their top coat sealant? Is there a cure time to it before a topper?

It's good, easy to work with, but nothing revolutionary. It's a nice buy for the price. It has a cure time of 24 hours.



The new M/F sealants are even easier to work with and produce a slick brilliant finish, but their durability is subpar. The best feature about them is that they have a cure time of only 20 mintues.



The body shop compounds are very nice (can't speak for the regular CGC's though)...they don't dust all that much, are very easy to work in, and wipe off fairly easily too. Spider buff is by far the king of the range as the most versatile...it is aggressive enough to take out a lot of swirling/scratching but it also finishes down great. Only problem is that it *can* dust up a bit.
 
I was talking about the non body shop compounds.



I'm somewhat of a noob to detailing but am trying to do my research.



I want to find a very nice sealant that has a very very quick cure time and can be used outdoors and in the sun (mobile detailing). I'm thinking Optimum Poli-Seal, but that's more of an all in one. I want a pure protective, higher gloss sealant. And a good bang for the buck.





Also looking for good compounds that aren't that expensive and can be used in the sun and are cost effective.
 
I have used their spider One Step compound (similar to their laser buff compound), pro-polish and Finish polish. I have used them in the sun in conjunction with Menzerna polishes. These are one of the easiest compounds to use with a long working time.



I agree that Spider One Step is probably the mot versatile (and my favorite). I was able to remove scratches and swirls with an orange pad. It then breaks down to a nice finishing polish. Dust is low compared to Menzerna and definately to Poorboys.



Finish Polish is very low dusting, if any, and sets my car up for LSP ready. Again very easy to use and long working time.



I, and others here, have really been impressed with thier newer sealants. I have tried FS Seal. It has really impressed me: I have had it on the Jag for a month now with all the rain ect, it still has very tight beading, and is one of the slickest feeling sealants I have used. It claims to help against dust attraction, and so far it seems imo that its true (especially after driving the car, the dust seems to slide off).
 
Idk about you, but I've come to the conclusion that it's impossible to figure out compounds/waxes/sealants.



I'm starting with XMT 1, 2, and 3. Then going to try Optimum from there. Probably going to stick w/ Optimum since they come in 32 oz and I'm looking for bulk products.



Starting with Duragloss 111, PB EX-P, Wolfgang sealant. Probably giong to use duragloss or PB as my bulk sealant for they work well in the sun.



Will probably use Optimum Poli-Seal as another sealant when a customer might want a carnauba as a topper. Using Poli-Seal since it can be topped immediately.



Anybody have comments/suggestions on that line up?

then ill top it with butter wax after curing? does that sound like a good combo... i already have the butter wax.. so ill just use it after i put on the EXTREME top COAT

Silk Dressing

Natural Shine Dressing

Trim Gel

Glass Cleaner

Odor Eliminator

Ultra Plush MF towels

WW towels



Just to name a few.
 
i have an almost full gallon of Revive glaze/polish. I never really liked it much, i still prefer the CK glazes over all. Eventhough i do want to try CG's new glaze. If you want to buy the gallon, or half, or some, pm me and let me know. I'm willing to sell.
 
i spoke to mark at CG.. and he said dont do three step.



so im getting diamond cut 1500

and getting three different pads for a ROTARY yellow blue white



and he said to get m-seal, and a paste wax, either XXX(which im leaning towards cause it is cheaper) or 5050.



how do you think this would compare in conjunction with ZAINO
 
well hers some eye candy for you this is CG's EZ creme glaze-Top coat sealant with the XXX all done in around an hour and a half 1 coat of each.

I have x-cellent results using these on all my customers cars

although you cant see the metallic ( I'll try and upload better pics later for you)rest assure it shimmers in the sun light and durability is still going strong on the misses car through 2 months of Ohio weather

I really like their XXX paste and EZ Creme Glaze

I don't recommend getting the CG AIO as it will leave white residue on any plastic trim and it's a biotch to remove.

I can't say much for their compounds as I have not tried them
