It sounds like the same thing that Detail Plus sells that is $14.95 and can be used on about 15-20 cars. I never tried either brands so I cannot say how they compare to the regular clay method.
I've never used this product, but I had something similar recommended for use around clear bras, pinstripes, etc. where regular clay will get stuck in the edges.
