Chemical Guys Black Light?

From actual experience, can anyone tell me about Chemical Guys Black Light?
Any tips or tricks to applying it and most importantly how are the end results?
Is there another product that is equal to it?
Any help is appreciated. :thinking
 
It's a great product. I apply with a PC and a white or grey pad. Does fill a little bit and ha some minor abrasives. I'm not sure on durability cause I always top it.
 
I don't get much durability from it really. Decent amount imho. But, before going back and forth trying different Sealants & Waxes my set was Finish Kare Pink Wax with Black Light over it. I've always liked the look it gave me. Came out sexy.

Applying it for me is a foam applicator pad.
 
I really like BL. Apply it with a blue hex pad (b&s) or black LC CCS. It's basically a glaze with some minor sealant properties. I top it with a wax. Have used Petes 53, some DoDo varieties, and some of drew's Son1c waxes with success. BL Leaves the surface glossy and slick and ready for wax.
 
I have used it a few times when dealing with Subarus and their sticky paint. Sometimes wiping off polish residue can be a bit of a nightmare re-introducing marring into your freshly polished paint. So I sometimes use blacklight on a traditional DA with a black/grey pad for the 'final polish', then let it dry to a haze and wipe off.

I have found it fills similarly to Poorboys Blackhole glaze.

But it's durability as a standalone glaze is not great
 
Depending the weather top it with CG Hybrid V7. They were made to coact and produce the best outcome. From personal experience (I have tried dozens of products up to 50$ each though) I have found that this combo produce the best shine and can only be compared to Zaino system. But the CG combo is much easier to apply.
 
I was told by Greg at Chemical Guys, after a wash and Clay job use the Blacklight first then Jetseal 109 (2 coats), then use CG 50/50 paste wax (2 coats).
 

IMO Blacklight is really just a glaze/aio. And it is a glaze first and and aio second. The filling is ok, but PB BlackHole is better. I didn't really get any correction out of it other than what the pad gives. It really mostly fills.

 
I used the Mseal Blacklight Butter Wet Wax combo this last time around, had a nice shine and gloss to it, buffed right off after it hazed up, I liked the fact that it was a purple product on white paint when applied...
 
My honest opinion, I'm not wild about it. Always used with the flex3401. Irregardless of pad, I personally don't think it does anything exceptionally well. I've done 4 vehicles hoping to get different results. As a sealant doesn't seem to last very long. I think it does an ok job filling, but why bother when you can just finish out and top. If your close to PA I'll trade or sell 3/4 of a bottle cheap.
 
In my opinion I don't think it matters. Did 3 daily drivers (2 less than a year old) and one garage queen. I guess it's more if what you expect it to do. If you want correction I think it's a waste of time, much better more effective and quicker products available. If you want protection, maybe if you keep topping with Hybrid V7. But again I have had better durability with others.
 
I use it on the majority of my details. I normally wash, clay, compound if needed, and then use CG Blacklight. I normally use it with a white pad and it erally leaves a great finish. I then top it with either a sealant or wax or both. I buy it by the gallon and use it all the time. It's actually one of my favorite detailing products. I have never had bad results with it. I've used it for years now with no complaints. Really easy to apply in thin coats. I norammly let it set about 15-30 minutes beofre I top it with anything.
 
I've not been able to become a fan of it. It does too many thing, but none of those things real well. But mostly, for me anyhow, it's just an "old-tech" product. Some many of the new products out there far exceed this in every way. It's just not for me.
 
I guess I should ask what you are hoping to achieve. What results where you hoping for. Maybe we could recommend something

OMG... They want you to apply 5 different coats of Last Step Products??? Who has time for that??? That would take me like a day.
