This car is utterly insane. I really cannot believe that it's right outside :scared ...

To give you a little background, this kid is 22 and I go to school with him. He just gave his leased 2001 SL600 Sport back in for this. He told me he ordered this one 8 months ago and it's probably the rarest color combo.

Now, I did a little background on my own and found out to lease this car, you need to put $10,000 down and pay $3500 a month!

Is it me, or is this a little much for a college student? My dad said to me when I told him "Most people won't even own anything close in their lifetime, let alone at 22 years old". I'm just absolutely blown away by the car, hands down. I gotta talk to him about detailing it :D

Steal it. I dont care how much you like him, steal it. Just kidding, the car is absolutely gorgeous. I hope he lets you take care of it for him. Pesonally I would not buy a Mercedes for 180K but thats alright cause I wont be confronted with a decision like what kind of car to buy with 200K anytime soon.
 
What kind of neighbourhood do you live in that a 22 year old "college kid" can afford a ride like that???? :bigscream What's he going to drive when he graduates & gets a job???? :crazy

The car looks gorgeous, but then it should for that kind of $$$$$!!

AMG's sure do have muscle...i know cuz i saw one blow right past me on the parkway early on a saturday morning while i was goin close to 80 and it was gone out of sight just a few seconds later. Think it was a SL55 AMG instead.

Anyways it sure would be great for you :bigups to be it's detailer.
 
Two words, BURNOUT MACHINE! But seriously, wow. Make him put it inside or something, you know some kids will go screw it up, or it could rain, or someone could look at it wrong, or UV radiation could hit it. AHHHHHH, save that car.
 
Sweet car, really like the rims. But unless this kid or his family is loaded with money, I think its a waste of a money. I know a couple who lease new M3s and Benzs and its such a waste of $ IMO. I hope the kid who swipped you doesn't park next to him. $180,000 car hit and run :hurl
I'm sure you'll be his official detailer. Your work is above any other detailer shops and your pictures show it. Plus if he's your neighbor its convient for everyone :bigups .
 
Nice car! But, I think I'd rather have a much less expensive car and use the rest of the money for mortgage payments on a house with a GARAGE. I just can't imagine parking a car like that outside in New England. :nono
 
If he's paying for that himself now, he don't need a college degree, he's doing fine already.
If not that must be one hell of an allowance that kid gets.

wow, that kid may be more spoiled than me...... thats insane, i cant imagine seeing some young kid get out of that car again. then again, at tennis practice, i was helping out these young kids, and this one guy's dad is a car collector. he has a prowler, 360, and tons of other cars. the kid was telling me about how he gets to drive the cars around, and how he didnt like the SLK600 (i think) because it was just too fast. this kid is like an 8th grader! god......


however, on the other hand, heres another story. last week wednesday, i learned that my friend's dad is also a car collector and that he loves cars. in 5 years, shes never bragged once about it once. only during physics class we were talking to each other as always , i think we were talking about something to do with cars and shes like, oh, my dad sold his lamborghini a couple years ago. and thats when we got into ths discussion. she said she wants to drive her dad's racing motocycle, but he probably wont allow her to. she's prboably gonna get the minivan :(. shes so modest, and not filthy spoiled either.
 
Little note...

Liz, Buckley, and I went for a walk this morning. To our surprise, the car was on JACKS! 2 jacks from an Asian car (Honda/Acura/etc) with a lug wrench left out, 1 lug off. Some vandals attempted at the rims. I took a look at there is a set on ebay going for $6,000. With such a rare car, I would think someone would be caught in about 5 mins when about to sell.

The car IS kept in a carport (3/4 garage...roof, sides, and back, but no front) and this is where the act occurred. I attempted to contact him but was unsuccessful but someone I know ended up getting in contact. He filed a police report and such. The thing I'm mad about is that this thing is only bringing more attention to mine. My appartment is kinda off the beaten track and DEFINATLEY not visible from the road but all it takes is someone to follow him in, then see my car :(


Also, messing with someone with this much money is asking for trouble.
 
One of my very good friends has that same car different color. Waited a year to get it. Not only is it a beutiful car but it is fast as hell. Actually scary fast!!

Wow. I feel sorry for the owner. People with money are usually pushovers and that is why they are preyed on.

I guess there is like a year waiting list for those things ?? 150K -

but yeah a 22 y/o kid with a car I could never afford in my lifetime?? (3500 a month is 3x my house payment!!)

thats bad news!!! it they are trying to steal the rims off of a sL65AMG, and cant get those off, they probably thing their in heaven when they saw your car...
