cheaper alternative to wheel woolies?

I have all the Wheel Woolies, including the bent ones. Quite honestly, I don't think they are good for cleaning wheels. They are either too thick or not long enough for my wheels.

I use a Wheel Woolie paint brush, both size Daytona Brushes, and a Boar's Hair AG Wheel brush - with that I can get every wheel surface.

IMHO, where the Wheel Woolies excel is cleaning wheel wells, under bumpers, and running boards. That is what I use them for. The tiny one is great for polishing inside exhaust tips on a drill.

I just picked the Daytona EX Detail brush but haven't used it yet. I only use brushes on to clean the inner wheel and barrels, for the face of the wheel I use MF mitt or towels. I get cars with caked on baked on brake dust that are severley neglected and a MF mitt or towel won't even come close to cleaning them. I must have 10 different wheel brushes.

You can also buy a bendable plastic 2 foot ruler and wrap a Costco/cheap MF towel around it to get behind the wheels and the inner barrels. Works great, I use this at car shows to clean my inner wheels and then toss the towel afterwards.

Took a toilet bowl cleaner, wrapped an old microfiber around it real tight and secures it....works like a champ. Take that you over-priced wheel woolie!
