Just a thought guys, I know Costco has the CR Spotless for $370, but AG is giving 15% off. So There CR is $400 -15% = $340 with free shipping! I know it doesn't come with the extra's as Costco's does but seems like a good deal. I plan on getting one of these for myself and using the David Sanders version of recharging the resign. Might use some of that savings to purchase an extra bag of resign but it'll still be savings! Just a thought!

Does AG CR spotless give you an extra refill of resin? That is worth about 90$. Also if you don't like the unit you can take it back to costco no questions asked! I don't see why you would want to deal with AG.

Cheers,

GREG

Bringing up this topic again. On ebay they have twin 20" with the bracket to hold the two housings for $125 including shipping. But the only problem is they have the 1" inlet/outlet. Im going to check around for the 1"-3/4 conversion.

I have a few questions.

1. I can just put the resin the housing correct?

2. I looked on windows 101 for the resin but its not there now. Is there a place you guys are getting it from now.

3. Should I install a filter or a water softener filter before the deionized chambers?

The guy selling the housings is going to give me prices tomorrow for everything. Not sure if he has the refillable cartridges or not but if not the above link sells them for $25 a piece.

So Im probably looking at about $250 or less for everything. Im not doing the inline tds as Ill just get a handheld for $15.

The one place sells everything. Apparently a 5lb bag will fill both containers. So the price is $215 plus shipping not including TDS. The guy said if we get 10 orders he will knock of 15% bringing it down to $182 plus shipping not including tds.

Anyone interested?

Talked to the guy...

Total price is $284 shipped to my house.

Includes:

- (2) 20" big blue 4.5" Tubes

- Mounting Bracket

- (2) refillable canisters filled with nuclear grade DI resin (15lbs)

Not a bad deal. Doesnt have a TDS so that would bring it to like $310 or so.

10 people buy would bring it to $248.

neighborsenvy- Heh heh, I don't want you to think your posts to this thread are going unnoticed, I just don't have anything worthwhile to contribute!

Yeah, I was wondering if anyone was interested but with the site being down, theres a lot less traffic than usual. I will probably buy the unit this week. That should cut 5 minutes off my washing time and one less worry about scratching my car.

neighborsenvy- If your drip/spot issues are anything like mine, it'll cut a lot more than 5 minutes off! I usually only use my CRS on the dog-haulers (like the Yukon XLD), but *man* does it save me a lot of time! I still dry conventionally, but just not having to deal with the never ending drips of water from the nooks and crannies can change the whole timeframe of those washes.

I was thinking today that for my own personal car I could just hook up the power washer to the unit and just spray the car down every few days. I already clean it every 4-5 days because I have OCD, and the car is black.

Most it should take is 10 minutes as I would basically just be getting the dust off the car.

neighborsenvy- If the system will provide the proper water delivery for your pressure washer it might work out great. I sometimes rinse my Yukon off with my CRS and that works sorta-OK even though it's nothing *near* like what a pressure washer will do.

It should, Im just using a 1.3 or something gpm electric pressure washer. I know it wont get off bugs and the like that well but it probably gets driven 50 or some miles between washes lol.

fyi.... I talked to the folks at Windows101.com earlier today about the status of their Thermax Tulsion resin and they still expect to have more in. However, I've been waiting since June on my order. The rep told me that they pulled the item from their website for now since they didn't have it in stock but they are planning to keep carrying it. I will post an update when I hear something.

If you're in rush you may substitute the thermax resin for either

Dow Marathon MR-3

Ionac NM-60

Purolite NRW-37

Resintech MBD-10

Amberlite MB 160

Unfortunately those other brands are generally slightly more expensive than Thermax.. Still cheaper than CR's though

...unfortunately, it's not the resin (or an alternative) I have a hard time finding but another good, cheap source. Most of the prices are quite similar to CRS (or more) for a cu. ft. ....unless you've got the name of a vendor you can share?

ok old thread i know i know....but how are you guys restricting your water flow to 2 or 3 gpm going into the filtration system??

....I have been using the fan setting on the nozzle since I have simply been too lazy to find a permanent solution but I believe Accumulator is using a restrictor/regulator he picked up from an RV store (IIRC). I found a brass pressure/flow gauge from Toro that is actually meant for testing but I was think about using for regulating (it has it's own adjustable valve as well). ....its overkill though and while it looks well built, I don't think it was meant to be used in a role where it is permanently fixed:

I would think an RV store or something similar should be a good bet.

Yeah, I'm using a pressure restrictor from the RV store. Simple little brass gizmo you screw in between the spigot and the CRS. I don't regulate the volume/gpm flow into it, but if I felt it necessary I'd just turn things down at the spigot.
