Working on a friends boat that he is selling. I use compound with mf cutting pads and it still looks dull. Is there something I can just spray to bring the shine out? And it there and easy way to cleaner the ss pole that's going around the boat. Last thing. Somebody spray vinyl dye on the dash and seats but got overspray on the gauges. And easy way to get that off?

If you are using a MF pad and an aggressive compound and the gel coat is still dull you may have to resort to some wet sanding to get rid of all of the oxidation. SS Pole?? Do you mean a stainless steel pole?? If so take a look at Marine 31 Stainless Steel and Aluminum Polishing Soap. Super easy to use and will bring back the metal to a nice shine.

Once the metal is all clean you can apply Marine 31 Metal Sealant to keep it protected from the marine environment.

like he said, a rotary and a wool pad is often the only way to get enough cut on very oxidized boats. or use 2500 grit sanding discs if you really need to, and your friend is willing to spend many hundreds to get it done, as it will be 15-20 hours of work. I have never had good luck with Marine 31 products, so I just use a VERY heavy cutting compound, made by a brand that we shall not speak of here because of rules. far as the overspray, I would try a compound first, if that wont remove it, you may have to either live with it, or try clay.
