Charger Stripes

Ronkh

Wax Waster
Right after I left from having lunch with a friend today........... Another friend called, he is the one with the Charger from this thread.

http://www.detailcity.org/forums/detailing-general/24877-new-charger.html

Seems that his car was dirty.... Covered with pollen

Someone wrote "Wash Me" on one of the stripes.
(remember this is pollen they did it with)

He says he has washed it a few times and you can still see where they did this.

How do I take care of it for him ???

Suggestions?

Start with something like pro-polish its mild and will not hurt the finish...its what I am using on some ghost flames on a single stage paint job

What no cookies?:D

Nope. Cookies would spoil your dinner...

So you have to wait till after dinner for cookies.

If they are deep (which may be the case with finger writing) you might need to two step them. For step one a mild cleaner type wax should do the trick, followed up with a very fine polish/glaze. If you go with the two step, try not to get the vinyl to hot, and use some 1/4" pinstripers tape on the edges -- product tends to pack under the edges and stay there.

here's a truck with a simular problem...

This has Flat black stripes. The truck has shiney black. Won;t abrasives possible shine the flat ?

It might if the clear on the vinyl is matte -- if that's the case he might be better off calling his insurance agent first. I have yet to be able to remove a simular mark on a clients Boss Mustang (client used their wet finger to rub off a small bird dropping -- the mark remains)
