Changing my views a bit on waxes and sealants and paint colors.

NS (the beta sample I've been using) is actually a little different on the metallic paint I used it on. More of a clear wet glow actually which is outstanding on solid colors. I just received the semi-final part A/B system and am in the process of trying it. We'll see how it looks on the wife's black metallic minivan.

I do believe that LSP's are different, but i'm just not so sure they are THAT much different. For instance. I have had FK1000 on my car for a few months.. it broke down much more quickly than I have previously experienced.

I am now using blackfire on my car and layering it. It seems to have a warmer and maybe not such a bright look would be the best way to describe it. The problem is, my car does have some minor marring on it... the hood I did go over with SIP after I have previously applied 2 coats of BF on it... problem was I didn't see the marring because of it being white. Once I noticed it I went ahead and used Menzerna SIP with an orange pad and did a pass on the hood. That cleared things up nicely.

I was surprise while polishing it however as the blackfire was a lot harder to remove than I thought it would be. The pad was kicking a lot of small almost little balls of sealant off as it was working. It certainly wasn't like polishing freshly cleaned and clayed paint.

I'm going to layer the BF about 5 times. I'm hoping with a gentle shampoo that it will last for a year. I may even top it with collinite 915 as I have it on my bumper and it's durability has REALLY impressed me. I'll do a small section and see if I notice a difference .... probably just the lower section of the rear bumper. I'll post up some pics and you all can see how you think the BF looks on a white car since most say it does better on darker cars.... just a little test.

usdm- Huh, thought I was the only person who knew from TOL's Snap Seal :D Handy stuff for some jobs, but not something I'd really want when looks matter.

Yeah, I bought this stuff a long while back. And even though its not the latest or greatest, it can do some decent service especially on cars where all Im doing is some quickie job and no polishing is being done to brighten up the paint (yes, I am a closet hack).

Oh, and to cosign what David said, Z2pro is brilliant on metallics. But I only use it when Im doing a polishing job.
