CG Sealant info

I had sent them an email and thought I would share their repsonse. I was looking for a sealant to apply before winter.

Dear Mike,

Thank you for your E-mail…

We agree there are lots of choices. Sorry about that but in a ever

growing need to make everyone happy we have more and more new exciting

products all the time. Regarding sealants my personal advise would be to

star with the Jetseal.

M-Seal-Durable Reflective wet shine Sealant nice 3-5 month durability.

Leaves a slick finish that feels slippery.

Factory Seal-Durable Warm Shine Sealant nice 3-5 month durability. Leaves

a warm look that is “Silky Smooth like a carnauba paste wax.

Jetseal109â„¢ is a unique anti-corrosion sealant developed to provide the

finest finish & protection available for paint, fiberglass, aluminum,

chrome, alloy metals, and other substrates. Developed exclusively for the

aerospace industry, JETSEAL109â„¢ was engineered to provide the ultimate

slick durable finish and multi layer-able protection from the harshest

environmental elements. Jetseal109â„¢ is now available for automobiles in

the same nano-tech ultra durable consistency and a Wet mirror like shine

and is unmatched with anything we have seen. The longest durability of any

of our sealants 7+ months.

Best Wishes,

Chemical Guys

Interesting, out of the 3 I have only used jetseal and wow is that stuff great.

My black car is currently wearing (under prepped paint of course) prima amigo> Jetseal > victoria cncours red and kept up with ONR, ONE, megs ultimate quick detailer, and crystal mist. And I can say that the jetseal makes cleaning very easy. Plus its still there ater my shirt-lived victoria wears off (which I reapply often as I enjoy doing it).

Do you get a decent shine with the jetseal? After applying the victoria do you notice a big difference in shine?

Thanks,

Mike

Thats what I want to know also. I have only tried 2 sealents. KSG and ultima. I Ultima looked a little better but it was still missing something. Does the carnuba really add depth to it?

I'm not sure how acurate those durability estimates are in real world conditions. California maybe but not in the rust belt.

Not huge, but I am a carnauba guy as you already know.

I used the jetseal over the weekend on a black & pearl white vehicle. I'm impressed. I don't think I could get more shine/gloss by applying anything over the top of it. Easy on and eay off, now just waiting to see how long it lasts.

I am using JetSeal on my truck (one layer, no prep) and its on about three months, and its still going strong. I *have* noticed it start to degrade a little bit since I have stopped maintaining it with qd's after washes, but keep in mind that I run this truck through machine washes only, and even with the extremely strong detergents it is exposed to, it still holds up.

I'm going to let it go one more month since we are still dealing with lots of rain, and high heat conditions, and will, at that time, go ahead and prep with something like Klasse AIO, and apply the two coats of JS like recommended. After which, I may even top it with CG's Pete's 53 :2thumbs:

As far as look, I found it to darken my paint a little, fill in some minor imperfections, and leave a very wet and shiny look.

Topping with with a carnauba would be the icing on the cake for this sealant, and would also make it last even longer. Using the process I described above, and maintaining with monthly coats of Pete's 53, I am expecting at *least* 6 months out of that finish.

with JS109 you can't go wrong

I applied it to my wifes 05 Ford 500 (dark shadow grey metallic) 3 months ago per instructions

car never gets washed (once, twice monthly if it's lucky)as it is our daily beater

I have noticed that it has a self cleaning ability and bird crap doesn't stick to it even when its been on a week in 90* + weather.

easy on easier off

it does leave a very slick/shiney surface behind but, I feel it muted the flake somewhat

took very very little to do her car with 2 coats applied

its pricey but I feel it was money well spent as a bottle will go a long way

next time I do her car I'm going to layer 4 coats and apply a coat of CG XXX over it to get it ready for Ohio winter

Don't forget to give it a proper base since you are going for absolute longevity and protection. I plan on using Klasse AIO as prep, but you can use most anything of that type.
