There was a lot of buzz about these products initially but I have seen only a few reviews; definately not as many as I would have expected. For example, I have been waiting for a review on EXTREME TOP-COAT PAINT SEALANT+ 3X CARNAUBA and either missed it or one was not done.



So I'd like to start a thread dedicated to CG product reviews. Please no flames or sidebars (e.g. that it this product is the same as so and so). Therefore, if you have tried CG Products, please post a review here. If you already reviewd one of their products, please provide a thread link in this post.
 
As a certified (sometimes certifiable) "Waxaholic", I was introduced to the Chemical Guy's website a few months ago while browsing through the Autopia Forums. As you can see by my sig at the bottom of this post, my arsenal of "boutique products" is quite extensive & I really didn't have a need to purchase gallon sized jugs of detailing products that (a) I didn't have a need for & (b) I knew nothing about. However, the inner Autopian in me just loves good value for my hard earned dollar & I love trying new stuff! I couldn't resist the temptation! My debit card burst from my wallet & the next thing ya know a gallon of Butter Wet Wax and a gallon of Extreme Top Coat Sealant w/ 3X Carnauba showed up on my doorstep within 4 business days. Great Service from CG. At the time, my 05 Black Tacoma was wearing 2 coats of Souveran & was looking sweet! I decided to top the Souveran ( I know what you're thinking.......Why would anyone top Souveran.......especially on black paint ) with the Butter Wet Wax. I applied it thinly using a dampened foam "handi grip" type applicator to one panel at a time, working it in til there's very little residue to remove..........it flashes quickly.........then removed it with a Concours Buffing Towel before moving on to the next panel. The BWW spreads easily & removes easily when applied thin. When I got to the tailgate I applied it a little thicker just to see what would happen. When applied thick, the BWW is a bit more difficult to remove. Similar to when you apply Meg's #26 Paste to thick. Thin is the way to go! After the "BlkTac" was done I stood back and admired my work. ( sound familiar?? ) I was stunned! My truck looked simply dazzling! Deep, Wet, Reflective Gloss. I was drooling! I felt like a kid in a candy store as I hugged my new jug of BWW. So there I was looking like Doc Emmit Brown from "Back to the Future" jumping up and down screaming " 88 MILES PER HOUR!! ". I then gave my truck a final buff with a little Crystal Mist. As Emeril would say......." BAM!!!! ANOTHER NOTCH!! " Fast forward a week..........It was now time for my weekly wash. Washed with Auto Bathe. HMMMMMMM........No beads? The water just sheated off my truck. I was confused. The truck still looked terrific.....but where were the beads????? I threw another coat of BWW on her & had the same experience while washing the following week. Damm it!!! I WANT BEADS!!! As luck would have it.......It rained later that day so I pulled my truck out from under the car port. BEADS!!!!! I'VE GOT BEADS!! All was right with the world again for I had beads! I'm still not sure why it doesn't bead while washing/rinsing, yet beads in the rain? ( I continue to scratch my bald head over that one. ) As for durability, I wax atleast twice a month so durability isn't an issue for me.

As for the Sealant with Nuba........Another great find! Just as easy to use. It does remind me of another EXcellent product I use. ( key word......."REMINDS ME" as in "nearly but not exactly the same")

I'm very happy with the quality of these 2 CG products & would highly recommend them to anyone looking for a good value for your dollar.
 
As a follow up to my previous post...........The combo of the Extreme Top Coat Sealant w/ 3X Carnauba topped with the Butter Wet Wax looks amazing on my black paint. Deep, rich, wetlook with plenty of clarity. I do all my detailing by hand under my carport. I have yet to use these products in the sun. Just call me "old school". I'm hoping others will chime in regarding their experiences with CG's products in a "non Flamable", objective discussion. Furthermore, I would hope that comments made would be by people who have used the CG's products & not by people who have no first hand experiences with them. Ofcourse, questions are always welcomed from people who are looking for info.

I know the original post specifically mentioned the Sealant w/ Nuba. I chose to provide my first hand experience with the BWW in more detail ( no pun intended ) as oppsed to the Sealant. I had the exact experience/impression of the Sealant as I did with the BWW. I apply/remove it in the same manner as the BWW & have achieved top notch results with it.

Some car shampoos are designed to sheet the water while rinsing for better results. Its a function of the shampoo and ceases when the surface dries. Beading returns.



Maybe the Auto Bathe is such a shampoo.
 
JJ tried the medium compound, he likes it. I believe that they don't contain silicones, but I'm not positive. For me, as much as I like the CG's lineup, I feel that their polishes give up a little something to Menzerna. Menzerna's Ceramiclear line and Optimum are the only polishes that I use on a regular basis.



As for their other products, their detail spray and Oil-based dressings are world class.

I've been topping the Sealant w/Nuba with Butter Wet Wax just about every 2 weeks for the last couple of months, so I really can't answer your durability question. Sorry! Since I'm a "Waxaholic", I just can't keep my hands off my truck. I'll have to wait for the winter before I test the Sealant w/ Nuba for durability. ( Winter here in West Texas is about 2 months long. )

I have been a Chemical Guys user way before the hype of how great the products are. I can tell you personally that the chemical products they manufacture are top grade. The CGC-1,2,and 3 and the Laser Buff as well outstanding. For the fast jobs Laser Buff really does an amazing job and for specific jobs you may find that the lineup is very easy to use and very user friendly.



themightytimmah :) I agree I have used Menzerna's Ceramiclear and other Menzerna products and I also think they are amazing and have a lot in common with Chemical Guys Swirl removers. One heads up for everyone, is the products have silicone or not really does not matter, Silicone in a product is not a bad thing. Many top quality compounds use Silicones to help ease application and removal allowing the polders or particles to distribute more evenly over the surface allowing for a more even application and limiting swirls and marks, just because a product has silicone does not make it a filler or a lower quality product. Our paint shop sometimes ends up having to do light body work on vehicles so when I truly need silicone free products, I use 3M Body Shop Safe Compounds in 32 oz for the smaller jobs and when I get in a few cars I turn to The Chemical Guys “Body Shop Safe�

Swirl remover line, also all the polishes they have are Silicone and Wax free. In most cases I don’t mind having the gallon sitting on the shelf because it saves us a lot of money and the guys at the shop use it up rather fast anyway. The Extreme All-IN-1 Polish they have has dropped a lot of my customers jaws ! Very fast and effective and delivers a super nice shine.,.. :shocked
 
a lot of modern polymer blends tend to sheet more than bead when washing-NXT does the same thing-the carwash used can have an affect as well- IMO that's why water clinging on a panel IS NOT an accurate sign that the wax has "evaporated"
