They`re calling #6 an incendiary device in a package (via twitter)...wth? Do we have a copycat too?
This is strange...feds,and pd are withholding info on lots of these events.

The bombings are really terrible, but what really strikes me is the fact there is always something like this in the news, either a bombing, shooting, or bridge collapse. The media literally plasters it everywhere, leading to decensizitation.

It`s wierd..locals are saying they heard a loud bomb..Pd says it`s an incendiary device

They just said it IS related now (atty general) yet pd tweeted not related...I`m hearing it was a flare in a box delivered to goodwill.

I agree with your media desensitization statement though. It`s been happening forever. (Edit) Well at least since media has been around.

Update. Austin PD said a box donated to goodwill had two "artillery simulators"(donated as apparent military mementos) inside and they deemed it not fit for goodwill, so they went to dispose the box and the employee opened up the box and one went off, burning his hand.

Some strange coincidence.

Nevertheless still someone out there.

This is my backyard so to speak, so yes we all want it over and the responsible party(s) caught and secured for whatever may come to them.

To all my Texas Brothers and Sisters ---

I am so sad this has been going on - I hope and pray - literally - that all will come to a halt soon..

The Law cannot speak much about it without possibly tipping off the wanker/s that is doing this, we all need to be patient and diligent until someone wants to claim that $115,000.00 Reward..

A nightmare for sure; please, please, just say a little prayer every time you and yours go out and ask for protection and inspiration for you and yours, ok ??

The rest of us will pray every day and night for all, and for those that are working on it to also have the same..

Prayers of Faith just sent...

God Bless -
Dan F

Bomber kills himself with apparent self detonated device but there are fears he (24 yr old white male) may have left some in the few days

Found him via video from a FedEx store

While we may cringe at these most recent bombings, this is nothing new in America. Many do not realize how many bombings went on during the early 20th century (1900-1930`s) during the labor union unrest and organized crime & gang-retaliation killings that went in that era. Only media at the time was days-old syndicated newspaper accounts and later fledgling AM radio news reports. Today it`s on 24/7 across cable news media and the ubiquitous internet social media, and as you say, we`ve become "anesthetized" to the news and graphic images that instantaneously flood our ever-present smartphones and I-pads screens. Is it the media`s fault or the users who view them? Is it a contributing factor to those who commit such crimes who want their "15 minutes of fame"? You tell me.

The bigger the news story, the more money the news broadcast outlets make. Used to be, the news outlets reported the story in a half-hour nightly news format. Now they seem to "make" the news and it takes on a life of its own, almost to the point of sensationalism and even "fake news", just to get the scoop on another network, and then offer retractions and apologies later with no apparent viewer consequences OR become so repetitious and redundant that we, the viewers, do become complacent to it.

I do know that the now-deceased Charles Manson and the Sharon Tate murder mesmerized America when it happened, so much so, the movie "Helter-Skelter" was made about it. Mr. Mason was a master at manipulating the media for his own purpose. Is it happening again? You tell me.

but ... you didn`t see him bring it to FedEx ....did you ??? bawahahahahaha

"Punny", but inappropriate remark that I made has been removed due to sensitive nature of this incident.
I do not want to offend anyone, nor do I wish to be banned from this forum.

First off, very happy the guy`s dead. Saves a trial and more media coverage. But please, let`s put this into perspective. How many people live in Austin and suburbs; maybe a million? Five people killed or injured. Not bad odds if you`re a gambler...
