Cd2 Engine Detailer

It's not a different valve cover. It was so covered in grease that he didn't even know it wasn't supposed to be black. I had to take the oil cap off because I was cleaning around it and it was in the way. It took a lot more than CD2 to get that engine clean, but it was the final touch that really shines things up.

Here are some pictures from my Corolla. CD2 really helped out. The hose between the motor and the air box was totally brown. All the rest of the hoses were stained white from whatever degreaser they decided to use. The valve cover cover was stained white as well. It took quite a bit of brushing and scrubbing to get it all clean. CD2 Engine Detailer really helped do the final detailing on the engine.

That's one that I have wanted to try for some time....I'm going to ask my local detail supplier to see about getting it

I've been wanting to try it to Dave. The Kmarts around here have a inventory tag on their shelf for it, but never actually have it. I can't find it anywhere..

..... but I also charge $60 for an engine detail, so I would say it is worth the $40 or $50 a case that it costs.

Hmm..Sounds like a reasonable rate, I suppose I'll order a case too. :dcrules

it figures that some of the best products you can't get locally!! but it is avaliable at www.amazon.com BLACK MAGIC came out with a engine detailer that is really bad :( i loved ACCUVISION glass treatmeant by castrol....only to find, no longer made.

The only place I can get it is Midway auto via amazon.com I agree with everyone else it is amazing how the engine compartment comes out worth the 60 bucks for 6 cans.:bigups

just got my restock of cd2 in today. 2-cans. glad to put on my shelf. did my jeep engine about 4-weeks ago, and it's still clean! amazing stuff. agree....that black magic was really BAD!! claims to be a all-in one engine cleaner/detailer....it did nothing.

I've been using CD2 for quite some time. Couldn't agree w/ you more...best product ever. I bought a few cans at Autozone a long time ago. Hopefully they still carry it.

Is this safe it accidentally sprayed on the drive belts or will it cause the belt to start slipping?

- Vikas

I spray it all over the engine bay and do so liberally. I've never had a problem with belt slipping or anything else.

as mentioned before, best i have ever used, very hard to find!! had to order from Wax Depot: Car Wax, Car Polish, and Car Care Accessories had it one time at a discount place here cheap, should have stocked up!! if you never tried it, find it!! it's that good.

Yeah, that place is local to me. I called earlier and they have it in stock so looks like I'll be dropping by tomorrow to pick up a case. I'll post pix of my 2005 Camry and 2002 Tahoe once I'm done.

The Black Magic engine detailer is horrrrrible!!! I will never use that stuff again. The can is still sitting 3/4 full on my shelf.

I wish I had come back to this thread earlier...I went to Autozone looking for some CD2 to try..not finding any I bought some of the black magic engine detailer...

The word horrible does not begin to describe how bad this product is...it came out of the can unevenly and sometimes thin, other times thick and gloppy...and this is after I had shaken the can well...it never dried because it was so thick in places that after an hour I decided to just wipe it off or at least try to spread it around...it left these odd white rings, to which I had to then clean the engine over again just to take the black magic off...

Yeah, I tried AZ and pepboys yesterday. Both had other CD2 products but no engine detailer. I thought, screw it, I'll just go to waxdepot. Again, I'll post some pix when I'm done.

:inspector:yep. it's that good!

My Camry's hoses are somewhat white too. I looked yesterday to see what to cover w/ plastic doesn't look too bad. The engine has some light dust but no excess oil/grease. I'll give it a spritzing with simple green or meg's APC and towel off before I hit w/ CD2.

Your engine looks great BTW!

The AZ by me had some the last time I was there. I will check them again on Monday. If they have some more, I will pick it up for you if you like.

Very good. Don't forget to post your first impressions and pix.

I will too once I get around to detailing my engine.

Ok, finally did my 2005 Camry. Not too dramatic a change since my engine was only dusty to start with. But ended up a tad shinier especially the hoses.

Process, Used my shop vac exhaust to blow all loose dust out. Then misted engine w/ Meg's APC (10:1) and wiped everything down. Sprayed engine CD2 detailer and followed instructions on can. See below for result.
